Who these terms cover

These terms cover marketplace accounts, listings, messages and seller verification. The operator is identified below. Use the service only if you are at least 18 and legally able to make the arrangements you enter into. Keep account details accurate and credentials private. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account.

Our role and your transaction

LokoKat Marketplace provides listing, discovery and communication tools. Buyers and sellers agree their own sales, services, stays, payment and other transaction arrangements. LokoKat Marketplace does not collect customer payments, hold deposits, provide escrow, issue seller payouts or operate a booking system. A message or listing does not by itself confirm a booking or sale. Confirm the seller’s identity, availability, total price, currency, taxes and terms before paying.

Seller responsibilities

Only offer goods, accommodation or services you are authorized to supply. Provide accurate descriptions, current availability, actual photos, relevant specifications and an explicit price and currency. Disclose faults, extra charges, safety information and material restrictions. Follow applicable consumer, tax, licensing, product safety, accommodation and business rules. Do not use another person’s photos or trademarks without permission.

Approval and location

Approved means an administrator reviewed an identity document; it is not a guarantee of quality, ownership, licensing, solvency or transaction protection. Non-approved sellers may also list. Approved sellers can choose to publish a business map pin. Publish only a location you have permission to make public. A pin records a location at a point in time and does not track movement continuously.

Acceptable use and content

Do not post unlawful, counterfeit, stolen, deceptive, discriminatory or infringing material. Do not harass, impersonate others, distribute malware, send spam, solicit passwords, trade identity documents or misuse someone’s personal data. Do not offer weapons, controlled drugs, sexual services or products and services whose sale is prohibited here. Follow the Seller rules and Safety pages. You retain rights to your content and grant the operator permission to host, resize, format and display it as needed to operate the service.

Moderation and account access

We may hide listings, suspend sellers or revoke approval where information is misleading, rules are breached, security is at risk or law requires action. Contact support to question a moderation decision, identifying the affected listing or account. We may need to preserve relevant records to investigate abuse or comply with legal obligations.

Disputes, availability and rights

Raise transaction problems with the seller promptly and keep evidence. The Payments, refunds and cancellations page explains our role. We do not promise uninterrupted service or successful transactions. Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. Mandatory consumer protections remain applicable.

Changes

We identify changes by updating the policy version. For material changes affecting your use of the service or personal information, we will provide an appropriate notice through the service or your account email. Where a change requires consent, we will request it before relying on that consent. Changes do not remove rights arising before they take effect.

Sponsored placements

Sellers may request promotion for their seller hub under the Sponsored listings and promotion terms. While active, every eligible listing in that hub receives a clearly labelled promotion benefit within matching results. Buyer-to-seller transaction payments remain direct. Any platform promotion fee must be separately agreed before activation; this version does not collect promotion payments.

Jobs and hiring

Employers and job seekers may publish vacancies or public worker profiles and communicate about work. LokoKat Marketplace is not the employer, recruitment agency or guarantor of qualifications. Employers must be authorized to recruit, describe genuine work accurately, comply with applicable employment and nondiscrimination requirements, and agree employment, pay and other terms directly. Do not post fake jobs, unlawful discriminatory requirements, requests for recruitment deposits, or demands for passwords, payment codes or identity documents in chat. Applicants should share only information relevant to the role. No hiring decision, employment contract or payment is completed automatically by an application.

Governing law

These platform terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, subject to any mandatory rights and protections that apply where you live. This choice does not take away a right to bring a claim before a court or authority available to you under mandatory law. The law governing a separate transaction with a seller or employment arrangement may differ.
